Catherine Campbell
Assistant Professor, Family, Youth and Community Sciences
Dr. Campbell’s primary focus is research into human motivation and behavior, particularly as it relates to how individuals and communities interact with their food environment and issues at the intersection of food systems and public health, such as ways in which community food environments affect food security and health outcomes. Her social science research program examines the descriptive and normative dimensions of food systems and identify the individual and contextual factors that affect the behavior, motivation, and decision making of food systems stakeholders—e.g., policy makers, farmers, and consumers—in order to support a more ethical, resilient, and healthful food system. Her current projects are focused on urban agriculture and institutional procurement of local foods.
