Kathleen Colverson

Associate Research Scientist, Animal Sciences

Dr. Colverson specializes in gender analysis, assessments, publications and evaluations in east Africa, Central America, Caribbean, Middle East, SE Asia and the USA. She facilitates formal and non-formal education, which includes extensive training and capacity building, published curricula, textbooks and refereed journal articles. In addition, she works with small and limited resource farmers and communities to create sustainable practices in production, marketing, food safety and gender equitable project planning with an emphasis on livestock production and value chain development. She currently serves as Senior Gender Scientist for the USAID Feed the Future Livestock Systems Innovation Lab; CoPI for the DFID-IDRC funded project titled, Advancing women's participation in livestock vaccine value chains in Nepal, Senegal and Uganda; and Senior Gender Technical expert for three Gates Foundation projects titled Food Safety Issues in the Beef and Dairy Value Chains in Ethiopia.
