Dr. Adesogan is a Professor of Ruminant Nutrition and the Director of the Food Systems Institute. His research has focused on improving forage production, quality and preservation and using feed additives, forages and byproducts to improve animal production and health.

Arie Havelaar was trained as a microbiologist and epidemiologist in the Netherlands and has worked at the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment as principal scientist in the Centre for Infectious Disease Control.

Dr. Dahl conducts applied and basic research with direct impact on animal production and health. Specifically, his program focuses on understanding the physiological impact of management interventions, notably photoperiod and heat stress abatement, at various stages of the lactation cycle.

Nargiza Ludgate is the Assistant Scholar in the Office for Global Research Engagement at the UF International Center. She works with faculty to facilitate international engagement through grant writing and program development. Nargiza  serves as the Co-PI of the IDRC-funded project Advancing Women’s Participation in the Livestock Vaccine Value Chains in Nepal, Senegal and Uganda.

Saska Hendrickx joined the University of Florida in May 2016 as part of the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Livestock Systems within UF/IFAS. She is a veterinary epidemiologist by training with over 15 years of experience in public health, livestock research and project management in developing countries.

Cathy Bester is the coordinator for the Food Systems Institute and is responsible for organizational and management tasks supporting faculty, projects, and events. Prior to joining the FSI, Cathy was employed with the Florida Museum of Natural History, during her earlier years working in science education and communication, and later as the project assistant for the NSF-funded iDigBio project. She has undergraduate and graduate degrees in the Biological Sciences.
